Many fine men and women have contributed their time and expertise to bring to the rest of the world their knowledge gleaned, discoveries made and technologies developed during their years spent in the polar regions, or working in related fields even if they never made it to "the Ice."

We are always saddened to hear of the loss of any Society member, but we honor them in their passing and extend our appreciation to their families, who graciously shared them and their time with us.

As time goes on, our obituary collection will grow. We welcome your contributions, of course. For now, you will find only the most recent. Most are newspaper obits, but some are articles written by family, friends and the occasional reporter. We hope you enjoy reading about the history, contributions and adventures of all our deceased members, who were and continue to be the foundation of the American Polar Society.

We are certain they would want to be remembered in this way.
